How to Be the Best-Dressed Wedding Guest

Wedding season is in full swing! The best part of it is getting dressed up for the occasion. Just because you’re not getting married there’s no reason why you can’t look fantastic while attending as a wedding guest.

After all, as long as you don’t wear white and steal attention from the bride you should aspire to look your best. To help you, I’ve put together a roundup of ultra chic dresses and separates that a wedding guest can wear.

Garden-Inspired Print Dress

Whether you wear a long or short floral dress, this trend is perfect for weddings happening in warmer months. A floral dress is fitting for an outdoor wedding or semi-formal evening event.

Chic Jumpsuit

Wearing a jumpsuit in either black or navy is a subtle take on this season’s hottest trend. Natural makeup paired with a sleek ponytail will keep your look sophisticated. Make the jumpsuit work for day or evening with heeled sandals and a clutch.

Unconventional Gown

Attending a black-tie wedding? You can wear a black gown for a classic look. If you want to make statement, opt for a floor-length gown in a unique color or inspired accessory like a belt.

Embellished Trousers

Dresses are not your only option. You can wear ornate and embellished trousers to your friend’s nuptial. Just keep the rest of your look simple, since you don’t want to stand out too much. You’re a wedding guest after all! Accessorize embellished trousers with pumps, a cocktail ring, and heels.

Little Red Dress

Cocktail-attire doesn’t have to be boring. Replace your LBD with a little red dress. Add some flavor to the dress with pretty accessories like a printed clutch, stilettos and dangling earrings.

  • Great ideas Rose.
Last year I attended about 7 weddings, these were all formal. I did not buy a single gown, I wore all the gowns i already owned and had some vintage hand-me-downs altered to fit. While I do not know if I was one of the best dressed, i still felt like it 🙂

    • It’s awesome that you were able to do that. I was in one last year and had to buy my dress. Then, I was invited to a super formal one and had to buy a gown. 😂
