How to Mix Patterns Like a Pro

I absolutely love mixing prints, but it can be quite challenging. When it comes to two of the most popular patterns, stripes, and polka dots, it’s hard to tell sometimes how they should be mixed, or if they should be mixed at all! But I love bringing them together because they look surprisingly chic. The secret in achieving a successful juxtaposition of prints is to vary the scale of the patterns, from small to large. For example, a thin striped top style with a skirt that has larger polka dots.

Don’t be afraid to break the rules! You can also try bold prints that can complement each other if they are almost exactly on the same scale. Like the look above this post. The result is very trendy! The cool thing about mixing prints is that when done right, you’re sure to stand out from the crowd.

Have you tried mixing patterns in your outfits? Let me know in the comments, I would love to read what patterns you’ve worn together.
